A connected waterfront, a vibrant Havre des Pas, and a town that faces the sea with pride.

St Helier South is where our Island meets the water. From the harbour and the Waterfront to Havre des Pas and the town’s southern streets, this is one of St Helier’s most distinctive and dynamic areas with real potential that is not yet fully realised.

Connecting the Waterfront and the Harbour to Town.

Too often, people arriving at the harbour or visiting the Waterfront do not find their way naturally into our town streets. The connection between St Helier’s seafront and its town centre should feel seamless, welcoming and alive.

I will advocate for:

  • Better links, clearer signage and way finding between the harbour, the Waterfront and the town centre.
  • Events, markets and cultural activity that draw people naturally from the seafront into St Helier’s streets.
  • Closer working between the Waterfront developments and the wider Parish so that new investment benefits existing residents and businesses, not only new arrivals

A connected St Helier South is a stronger and more thriving St Helier.

Havre des Pas: A Year-Round Community Destination

Havre des Pas is one of St Helier’s most loved neighbourhoods — a genuine seaside community with a strong local identity. It deserves investment and attention that reflects its character and its potential.

I will support:

  • Improved paths, seating and facilities along the seafront to make it accessible and welcoming for everyone, including older residents and people with disabilities.
  • Improved beach mobility so the seafront can be enjoyed by all regardless of ability
  • Year-round activities and events that make Havre des Pas a destination in every season, not just summer
  • Maintenance and care of the public realm so this beautiful part of St Helier stays beautiful.

Responsible Development

St Helier South is an area of significant development pressure. New homes and new infrastructure are needed,  but development must be done responsibly, with the needs of existing residents at the centre.

I will:

  • Push for any new development to include meaningful green space and community infrastructure
  • Ensure local residents are consulted early and genuinely, not as an afterthought
  • Insist that development contributes positively to the character and liveability of the area
  • Make sure that the impact on traffic, parking and public services is properly assessed and managed

Development should add to St Helier South, not simply extract from it.

My Commitment to St Helier South
St Helier South has a unique character, diverse, thriving and full of potential. My commitment is to listen to the people who live here, understand what each street and neighbourhood needs, work with businesses of the area and deliver practical improvements that make a real difference to daily life.
