Green spaces, strong communities, and better connections

Children's park at First Tower

Children’s park at First Tower

From our green valleys to established residential streets, St Helier North is a community with real character and strong local pride.

As your Constable, I will focus on strengthening that community, making our green spaces accessible  and creating places where people of all ages can connect and feel at home.

To invest in St Andrew’s Park and create a space for Every Generation

Working with the First Tower community and St Andrews Church, I will unlock the full potential of St Andrew’s Park by transforming it into a welcoming, multi-generational destination.

This includes:

  • Better and more inclusive play areas for different age groups
  • Safe spaces for young people to gather
  • A dedicated dog-friendly area
  • Fruit trees and more planting
  • Accessible paths, seating and shaded areas

This should be a park where children play, young people feel welcome, and older residents can relax and enjoy the space.

Community Hub for La Pouquelaye & St John’s Road

I will push for a dedicated, accessible community hub in this neighbourhood.

Every part of St Helier North deserves a local heart – a place to gather, connect and support one another.

This hub could:

  • Host community activities for all generations
  • Provide space for local groups and services
  • Support wellbeing, learning and social connection
  • Home for La Pouquelaye Youth Project
  • Ensure that any development on field H1219 will keep community needs in mind

First Tower: Bringing the Community Centre Back to Life

The First Tower Youth and Community Centre should once again be a vibrant part of local life.

I will support bringing the Community First Tower Association back into active operation and revitalising the centre as a true community space.

This means:

  • Activities for children, young people and older residents
  • Social, cultural and wellbeing programmes
  • A welcoming space for everyone in the community
  • Brainstorm for options for the First Tower Neighbourhood Improvement Scheme.

Working with partners, including St Andrew’s Catholic Church and local community leaders, we can build a stronger, more connected network of activities and support.

Vallée des Vaux & Grand Vaux

Connection, access, protection

The valleys are one of St Helier North’s greatest assets.

I will work to:

  • Improve connections between Vallée des Vaux, Grand Vaux and surrounding streets
  • Link them to walking and cycling routes across the Parish
  • Improve access while protecting their natural character
  • Working with residents and National trust for develop Valley Des Vaux as destination for residents and visitors as special interest in biodiversity

These spaces should be celebrated, accessible to all, and protected for future generations.
