My objective as a Constable would be to continue to strive for a fair deal for St Helier by seeking a balanced urban development that makes Town a great place to live, work and relax.

A third of Jersey’s  population lives in St Helier, these residents are the powerhouse of Jersey’s economy – not just today, but in the years to come. Two third of the population works in St Helier .

St. Helier contributes to the economy more than any other parish however, gets proportionally less back. Funds are easily made available for environmental and community projects in country parishes, but not for areas like First Tower, where the population density is considerably higher.

As Constable, I will:

  • Stand up for St Helier to receive a fair share of investment
  • Ensure our voice is stronger in Island-wide decisions
  • Push for funding that reflects the reality of our role
  • Ensured that the primary schools in St Helier be considered as part of infrastructure planning;

I will also establish a Conseil Municipal (Town Council), bringing together:

  • Deputies
  • Parish representatives
  • Residents
  • The Youth Assembly

This will create a stronger, more coordinated voice for St Helier, shaping decisions that affect our Parish and our future.

I will continue to push that St Helier ratepayers do not pay for services and facilities paid by the tax payers in other parishes. I will campaign for equality in this area along with every other aspect of parish finances.

I will re-establish work of the St Helier Community Strategy steering group, bringing together stakeholders from different sectors to meet needs and services  required by our community;
