ENVIRONMENT AND SUSTAINABILITY
Where are we now? In 2022 I committed to protecting green spaces, encouraging biodiversity, and supporting a circular economy. Jersey has made some progress on environmental policy — but the pressure from development, the loss of green space, and the slow pace of change on sustainability remain real concerns.
What I will continue to push for as your States Member:
Jersey’s natural environment is not a background feature — it is part of our identity and our economy. I will continue to push for stronger protection of countryside, coastline and biodiversity, and for public land to be used wisely rather than sold off for development.

The waterfront
As Constable, greening St Helier is one of my clearest commitments. More street trees, pocket parks, community allotments, and accessible green valleys are not luxuries — they improve mental health, reduce heat, encourage active travel, and make St Helier a more liveable place. I will stand firm to ensure Springfield School and the Le Bas site are delivered as new parks for the community.
The connection between town and countryside matters too. I will support local farmers, local markets, and local food systems — keeping that link alive for the next generation.
